Jacqueline has been a leader in the Health and Wellness community in Ottawa for two decades. She has touched the lives of many through her compassionate teaching style which focuses on the somatic experience, is inspired by curiosity and informed by current science.
Jacqueline is a dance artist, teacher, mother and business woman. She is a graduate of the Contemporary Dance Programme at The School of Dance in Ottawa (1999) and holds the title of Fletcher Pilates® Professional Teacher (2006). A recipient of the prestigious 40 under forty Ottawa Business Journal Award, Jacqueline was also a finalist for the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year and the YMCA Women of Distinction Awards.
In 2002, Pilates Space started in a small basement studio on O’Connor Street, Pilates being relatively unknown in Ottawa. With vision and dedication Jacqueline and her husband Charlie, have lead the studio to grow and evolve to be Ottawa’s premier licensed Fletcher Pilates movement studio and Teacher Training Educational Centre. Jacqueline had the honour of studying with first-generation teacher Ron Fletcher for nearly a decade, an experience that had a profound effect on her teaching. Ron gave her the distinction of disseminator of his work.
Pilates Space won Best Pilates Studio in the 2020 Ottawa Health and Wellness Expo for Leadership in Health. The space was founded on the principles of respect, inclusivity and fairness. Along with her team, Jacqueline has stayed true to this fundamental idea and continues to lead and provide a space where all are invited to learn and grow.
